Remember Stevie from I believe when he played junior football . Then he was going to Celtic and you could see he had what it took to move that level. It was a pleasure to say I played against him but could not prevent him from scoring.

I met Stevie at my very first game when I was 8, he was having dinner at the same part of the stadium as me. Took the time to speak to me when I went over to get an autograph. All I had to sign was the match program, I still have on my window a Stevie Chalmers signed John Kennedy poster. One of my earliest memories of the club. RIP Stevie

As a school bhoy I was a Celtic Pools agent when Stevie was running the pools. I arrived home from school one day and was told that Stevie Chalmers had been on the phone asking to speak with me... I immediately thought it was a wind up, but later on I received a follow up call from Stevie. He was phoning round to encourage all the pools agents to keep up the good work. I was totally amazed that a hero of mine, a Lisbon Lion and club Legend had taken the time to give the likes of me a call.... but back then the superstars of the game were down to earth, humble guys like Stevie Chalmers, Big Billy and the rest of the Lions. Stevie was a hugely talented player who scored so many great goals for our beloved Hoops... none more so than the greatest of them all, the winner in Lisbon, but he remained a humble, grounded man throughout his life who was always approachable. What Stevie Chalmers gave to Celtic and us supporters can never be repaid and will probably never be equalled by any present or future player pulling on the famous Green & White Hoops.... Stevie Chalmers and the Lions of Lisbon were unique and we will never see their like again. Rest in Peace Stevie and sincere condolences to your family. Hail, Hail.
